Time tracking on projects via Papervee Projects

Time tracking on projects can be done by any user with access rights to Papervee Projects.


There are multiple methods for time tracking. Below are descriptions of all these methods.


Time tracking using timer


To track time in real-time, you can use the timer method. Follow these steps:


  1. Navigate to the "Dashboard" page in Papervee Projects.
  2. In the time tracking section, select the "Timer" method.
  3. (optional) select whether the project is billable or not; this option is set automatically depending on the selected project.
  4. Select the project and/or sub-project you wish to track time on. If you don’t select a project, pressing the "start tracking" button will open the project/sub-project selection window.
  5. (optional) add a description to the time tracking session. This description can be modified during an active time tracking.
  6. Press the "start tracking" button (symbol "play") to start the timer.
  7. To finalize the time tracking using the timer, press the "stop tracking" button (symbol "stop").


Manual time tracking


To manually track time on a project, follow these steps:


  1. Navigate to the "Dashboard" page in Papervee Projects.
  2. In the time tracking section, select the "Manual" method.
  3. (optional) select whether the project is billable or not; this option is set automatically depending on the selected project.
  4. Select the project and/or sub-project you wish to track time on. If you don’t select a project, pressing the "add time tracking" button will open the project/sub-project selection window.
  5. Add the time tracking interval by selecting the day, entry time, and exit time.
  6. (optional) add a description to the time tracking interval.
  7. Press the "add time tracking" button (symbol "plus") to add the time tracking interval.


Adding Time Tracking in Bulk or for Other Users


Project managers and users with Administrator roles have the right and ability to track time for other team members and adjust time entries.


To track time on projects in this manner, follow these steps:


  1. Navigate to the "Reports" page in Papervee Projects.
  2. Press the "Add Time" button.
  3. Select the project you wish to track time on.
  4. (optional) select the desired sub-project.
  5. Select the team member or members. Selecting multiple members will result in multiple time entries being added.
  6. Define the date, entry time, and exit time.
  7. Mark whether the project is billable or non-billable.
  8. (optional) add a description for the time entry.
  9. To finalize the addition of tracked time, press the "Add Time" button.


Modifying Time Tracking


Project managers and users with Administrator roles have the right and ability to modify existing time entries.


To modify a time entry, follow these steps:


  1. Navigate to the "Reports" page in Papervee Projects.
  2. Filter the page to include the time entry you wish to modify.
  3. Next to the time entry you want to modify, press the actions button (symbol "three vertical dots").
  4. Click "Edit".
  5. Modify the desired information.
  6. To finalize, press the "Modify Time Entry" button.


Deleting Time Tracking


Project managers and users with Administrator roles have the right and ability to delete existing time entries.


To delete a time entry, follow these steps:


  1. Navigate to the "Reports" page in Papervee Projects.
  2. Filter the page to include the time entry you wish to delete.
  3. Next to the time entry you want to delete, press the actions button (symbol "three vertical dots").
  4. Click "Delete".
  5. To finalize, confirm the intention to delete the time entry.
