The Papervee Leave and Events Module is the section where company employees can view and manage various leave requests or events, whether it's about vacation leaves, sick leaves, or leaves of absence and business travel requests. This module is interconnected with the digital attendance sheet, taking into account the leave and event requests approved in the system.

The Leave and Events Module has various settings that allow you to customize the user experience. To modify the settings, navigate to the "Settings" page on the Papervee Core HR platform through the left menu, select "Papervee Apps" from the top menu, and choose the "Leave and Events" category on the left.

Read about each setting and their effects below.

Manage leaves without approval

With this setting, you eliminate approval workflows for leave requests. With the setting active, any employee will be able to add new leaves and modify their own leaves. Generated requests will be automatically approved without a manager's intervention.

Manage events without approval

Legal Holidays

Through this setting, you can manage legal public holidays granted to your employees. Depending on company policies, you can delete legal public holidays or select new ones.

By unchecking this setting, the system will not consider any legal public holidays. By default, the attendance calculation will reflect this.

To manage the granted legal holidays, click the "Manage days" button. In the pop-up modal, you can see all the granted legal public holidays. By clicking the calendar button (calendar symbol), you can select the year for which you wish to manage the legal holidays.

To delete a legal holiday, click the delete button (trash can symbol) next to it. In the pop-up modal, confirm the deletion.

To add a new legal holiday, click the "Add Holiday" button. Enter the name of the legal holiday and the date on which this holiday is granted. To finalize, click the "Add Holiday" button.

Leave types

Through this setting, you can manage the customized types of leaves granted by the company. By default, the following types of leaves exist:

  • Vacation;
  • Sick leave;
  • Unpaid leave;
  • Parental leave.

If you wish to add other types of leaves, click the "manage leaves" button. In the pop-up modal, you will see a list of all available leave types. Click the "Add leave type" button. In the pop-up modal, specify the name of the new leave type and the abbreviation that will appear in the attendance sheet. Additionally, you can check if it is necessary for an employee to upload a supporting document when creating a leave request. To finalize creating the leave type, click the "Save leave type" button.

From the moment of creating the new leave type, employees in the workspace can create requests using the new leave type. These go through the approval workflow like any other leave.

Customized leaves can be modified by clicking the edit button (pencil symbol). They can be archived by pressing the archiving button next to them and confirming the archiving in the pop-up modal.

Additionally, once archived, they can also be deleted from the archived leaves section. Attention, deleted leave types will also be removed from employees' calendars and the attendance register. We recommend only archiving them.

If this setting is unchecked, you must set the total number of vacation days for each employee individually at the time of their creation.

Auto-addition of vacation days

If this setting is activated, the number of vacation days assigned to each employee will automatically be added on the first day of the year. Thus, if an employee is attributed 21 vacation days per year, they will receive 21 vacation days in their account at the beginning of the year.

Manage sick leaves without approval

If this setting is activated, medical leave requests will be automatically approved at the time they are submitted. If the setting is deactivated, medical leaves will follow the same approval workflow as any other type of leave.

If this setting is activated, employees on their "Leaves and Events" page will have access to an additional section called "Public Leave Calendar." Here they will see the calendar with all users in the workspace and their approved leaves.
